Terms of Use

Last updated: May 13, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Playtime (operated by Start Project, LLC (DBA Playtime Sports) at playtime.net and its subdomains) you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract. Team owners and coaches who manage minors are responsible for obtaining any consents required by their league or local law before adding minor players or their parents to a roster.

3. Accounts and access

Coaches authenticate via email magic-link or OAuth (Google / Apple). Parents and players authenticate via per-recipient magic-link tokens issued by their coach. Keep your credentials and magic-link emails / texts secure. You are responsible for all activities under your identity and must notify us of suspected unauthorized use.

4. Messaging service

Playtime delivers transactional messages on behalf of teams, via email, SMS, and (in the future) push notifications. Message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to SMS.

  • Frequency. Typically 0–5 messages per week per team, driven by coach activity.
  • Opting out. Reply STOP to any Playtime SMS to stop further messages from that team. Reply HELP for assistance. You may also manage channel preferences in-app at /p/me, including a hard “stop all messages” opt-out.
  • What Playtime sends. Schedule changes, RSVP requests, coach announcements, and account-security messages (magic-link sign-in). We do not send marketing messages.

5. User content

You retain ownership of rosters, schedules, messages, and media you post, but grant Playtime a license to host, display, and distribute that content within the service. Content must stay team / sports related and may not include banned categories (sexual content, hate or violence, weapons promotion, gambling, illegal acts, or personal data without consent). We may remove or restrict content at our discretion.

6. Score accuracy and team data

Coaches, team owners, and assigned scorekeepers are solely responsible for the accuracy of rosters, schedules, scores, and stats. Playtime is not liable for errors or delays in posted information.

7. Moderation and DMCA

We may monitor and moderate user-generated content. DMCA takedown notices should be sent to info@playtime.net with the required details. Counter-notices are handled consistent with the DMCA.

8. Payments

Paid features (PRO team tier, broadcast features, premium add-ons) may be offered through Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe. Their terms govern payment processing. Unless required by law, all purchases are final.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate data collection from the service;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of the platform without authorization;
  • send messages to recipients who haven't opted in;
  • interfere with the operation of the service or its users.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose risk. You may delete your account at any time; some data may persist for legal or anti-abuse reasons.

11. Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is.” We disclaim warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Start Project, LLC (DBA Playtime Sports) is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. Our total liability will not exceed $100.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Playtime and Start Project, LLC (DBA Playtime Sports) harmless from claims arising from your content, conduct, or breach of these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by United States and California law. Exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the state and federal courts located in Marin County, California.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Posting the updated version constitutes notice; continued use means you accept the changes.
