Privacy Policy

Start Project, LLC (DBA Playtime Sports) ("Playtime," "we," "us") operates Playtime Schools — school sports hubs at schools.playtime.net, the "School Sports" mobile apps, and school-branded editions (for example, "Tam Sports").

Roles. Playtime owns and operates the platform. Each school hub is published by an organization from that school's community — typically a booster club (the "Hub Publisher") — under a Customer Agreement with us. The Hub Publisher is usually independent of the school and district. For content it publishes — names, results, photos, awards — and for donor information it receives, the Hub Publisher decides what is collected and shown, and Playtime processes the data to operate the platform on its behalf. Playtime does not receive education records from schools.

• Nothing to browse. Reading a school hub requires no account. We do not collect names, emails, or profiles from people who only browse.
• Device and log data. IP address, device/browser type, and request timestamps in server logs, for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking.
• Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications in a native app, we store an anonymous device token, your chosen school, and your favorited teams so we can send the notifications you asked for. The token is not tied to your name or email.
• Community submissions. If you submit a score or photo, we collect what you submit, optionally a name you provide with it, and standard request metadata.
• Donations and sponsorships. If a hub accepts gifts and you make one, we store what you enter for the Hub Publisher: name and email, amount and tier, and — where the form asks — mailing address, phone, employer-match details, the students or sports you support, and whether you asked not to be listed publicly. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. The Hub Publisher receives this information to acknowledge and receipt your gift.
• Administrator accounts. School administrators sign in with an email address; we store their name, email, role, and school, and a record of the agreements they accepted.
• Scorekeepers and contributors. People posting live updates through a link from a Hub Publisher are identified by that link, not by an account; what they post is stored and published.
• Connected accounts. When a Hub Publisher connects its YouTube channel, Instagram account, or Stripe account, we store the access credentials those services issue so we can act as the Hub Publisher directs (schedule a broadcast, publish an approved post, record a gift).

School hubs cover high-school sports, so hub content includes information about students: names in schedules, results, highlights, awards, and alumni updates; and photos and video from games. This content is published by or under the review of the school's administrators, who are responsible for having the authority and any parental consents required to publish it. Parents/guardians: to have a photo or detail about your child removed, contact your school's administrators through the app or email info@playtime.net — verified requests are honored promptly.

Video, audio, and software-drafted content. Games that a Hub Publisher broadcasts publicly (for example on YouTube) may be processed by our software to find highlights: we read the video's captions, or transcribe its audio on our own cloud workers when captions are missing, and use AI systems to draft summaries, clip times, and captions. Public news coverage of the school's teams is summarized the same way. Every draft is held for a School Administrator's review before it appears. We do not use this material to identify individuals by face or voice, and we do not allow our providers to train their models on it.

Playtime Schools does not offer accounts to children, does not collect personal information from viewers, and directs its interactive features (submissions, administration) to adults and users 13+. Information about minors that appears in hub content is provided by the school community as described in Section 3, not collected from the children themselves. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information directly to us, contact info@playtime.net and we will delete it promptly.

• Operate and improve the school hubs.
• Deliver the push notifications you enabled.
• Review and publish community submissions through school moderation.
• Secure the service and prevent abuse.
• Aggregate, de-identified usage counts (for example, an active-member count per school).

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the platform, each bound by a data processing agreement:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (U.S., West region).
• Vercel — web hosting and request logs (U.S.).
• Railway — hosting for our video-rendering and broadcast-control services (U.S.).
• Google Cloud — workers that process public game video (captions, transcription, clip frames) (U.S.).
• Resend — transactional email delivery (administrator and onboarding mail).
• Stripe — payment processing: Hub Publishers' subscriptions to Playtime, and gifts made to a Hub Publisher, which are charged on that Hub Publisher's own Stripe account.
• Expo / Apple / Google — push notification delivery to your device.
• Anthropic — text that administrators paste for parsing (schedules, rosters), and text used to draft summaries and captions, is sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to return the result; it is not used to train models.
• OpenAI — our research and highlight-drafting agents run in our ChatGPT workspace under settings that exclude our data from model training. They handle public game video transcripts, public news coverage, and hub schedule data.
• Apify — retrieves public posts from Instagram accounts a Hub Publisher designates.
• Playtime Live / Playtime Teams — our own scoring and team services; live scores and scorekeeper posts flow from them into the hub.

Services a Hub Publisher connects. When a Hub Publisher connects its own YouTube channel or Instagram account, content it approves is sent to those services. The apps embed YouTube video and our software uses YouTube API Services; by watching embedded video you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. A Hub Publisher can revoke our access at any time in its admin settings or at Google security settings. Instagram publishing uses Meta's Instagram API under Meta's terms.

We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Schedules, scores, and news in a hub may be assembled from public sources (state athletic associations, MaxPreps, news feeds) alongside the school's own entries. Alumni updates draw on publicly available information (for example, college team rosters) curated by the school's administrators.

Our database and hosting are in the United States. If you use the service from outside the U.S., your information is processed in the U.S.; where required, transfers rely on our providers' Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Log data is retained briefly for security and debugging. Push tokens are retained while notifications are enabled. Donor records are retained for five years after the gift, for the Hub Publisher's receipting and legal record-keeping needs, then deleted. Full-game working copies used to find highlights are discarded when processing ends; the review material it produces (frame stills and candidate clips) is kept in private storage, visible only to the school's administrators and Playtime, and deleted 30 days after the school reviews the submission. Hub content is retained while the school's hub is active or as needed for legal purposes. We use encryption, access controls, row-level security, and monitoring, though no system is perfectly secure.

• Disable push notifications any time in your device settings.
• Ask for removal of content about you or your child (Section 3).
• Email info@playtime.net for access, correction, portability, or deletion of any personal data we hold.
• California residents may exercise CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

The web apps use only strictly necessary, first-party storage (for example, remembering your chosen school and an administrator's session). No advertising, marketing, or third-party analytics cookies.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the revised policy.
