Reading the responses

Use GET on the linked URLs. Responses use application/json and schema_version “1”. Cite canonical_url when presenting a fact; use data_url to retrieve structured data. Team IDs identify one season. academic_year_ending 2027 means the 2026–2027 school year.

Game responses include schedule_label, timezone, scheduled_date and time_known. A null starts_at means an exact start time is unavailable; do not interpret a date-only schedule as a midnight game. final_score is null until a completed game has both scores. Zero is a valid final score.

School and game source_updated_at values describe the underlying records. Teams have no reliable update timestamp in this contract. School data and publication eligibility are read on each request, with no shared response cache. Removed or unpublished resources return 404 on subsequent requests; source failures return 503. Previously downloaded copies and search-engine results may persist until their owners refresh them. These are snapshots, not live scoreboards. Follow app_url for live updates.

The service catalog uses reviewed_at for its editorial review date. Pricing summaries are in USD; billing remains authoritative at checkout.

Availability and scope

Game responses include recap: null unless an editor has explicitly approved a recap for discovery. Approved recaps contain title, body, source_url and source_updated_at. Cite the game canonical URL and preserve the source attribution. Recaps are editorial snapshots; they do not publish athlete profiles or grant reuse rights to linked media.

School responses list available seasons. Follow /discovery/v1/schools/tamalpais/seasons/{academic-year-ending} for each season’s teams, including historical seasons. Team and game canonical URLs remain unchanged.

Game media is an array of explicitly cleared links with titles, captions, credits, sources and optional permission expiry. Empty means no currently eligible media. Source edits, rejection, expiry, withdrawal or game deletion remove eligibility. Links do not grant download or republication rights. No live stream URL or embed is inferred.

A 404 means a resource is unsupported or unavailable for publication. A 503 means the source could not be read; retry after the Retry-After interval and do not interpret it as an empty schedule. Fetch only the resources you need and respect cache headers. Browser clients may read these public responses using CORS.

The pilot covers Tamalpais school, team and game facts. Private rosters, contacts, messages, athlete profiles and unapproved media are excluded. These endpoints provide read access only; they cannot create teams, score games or purchase services.
